Carara is one of the most popular National Parks near Jaco. This is the northernmost Pacific coastal rain forest remaining intact in Costa Rica, and is the transition zone into the tropical dry forests of the northwest. It is a favorite destination for bird watchers due to the incredible bird variety, it has a perfect position in a transition zone that allows residents of both habitats to appear.
